Current Production time remains 4-6 Weeks.
Even with the height of the skydiving season upon us we have been able to keep our production times at our standard 4-6 weeks which is several weeks faster than most other manufacturers.

By not dabbling into the tandem or military market and focusing on only making the best sport harness container systems in the world, we are able to maintain our desired 4-6 week delivery time standard.  We have also added production staff as necessary to meet demand and keep our delivery times low throughout the busy skydiving season

Why pay more and wait longer for a lesser rig?  Don't forget that stainless steel and spacer foam is included on all G4's.  You can have the Ferrari of containers on your back with plenty of the skydiving season left and plenty of change left in your pocket.  Go ahead, you deserve it!

New Website is on it's way!!
After receiving feedback from our customers we have decided to give our website a complete overhaul.

The new website will have fully functioning e-commerce ability for all of our Mirage apparel, current and online stock rigs, and a much improved container sizing guide and color picker, not to mention much more.

We have listened to you and rest assured it is on it's way.  Please be patient, it's coming.
Mirage sizing numbers explained.
We've had so many customers ask us just what the numbers on the inside of their ring cover info mean in regards to our sizing so here is a quick quide to better understand our sizing.

Typically there are three numbers and will look similar to 16.5, 16, +.5

The first number is the length of your main lift web in inches.  A good reference (but rough guide) to go by for the MLW length is this:

HEIGHT           MLW

5'3"-5'5"             14"

5'6"-5' 7"            15"

5'7"-5'8"             15.5"

5'9"                   16"

6'                      17"

The second number is the length of your leg pad in inches.

And the third number is the length of your "stabilizer" or "lateral" as shown below compared to a standard measurement.  +.5 means we add 1/2 of an inch to our standard measurement.

You may see one more measurement which is your shoulder extension.  That is the length of material that goes from your yoke or neck area up to your 3 ring.  The shoulder extension will be longer for thick chested people as the material to cover that distance will be longer.  Again, that measurement will be + or - a number compared to our standard.  +1 would be a large shoulder extension for thick chested men.  That number is always last.
Amahra Perry joins the Mirage team

We are proud to announce the newest addition to our team.

Amahra Perry is now taking over the lead sales position for Mirage Systems
replacing  Bob Beck.

Amahra is an active skydiver who has been jumping and working in the sport for over seven years.  You may remember her from Downwind Skydiving Equipment and Freak'N Suits in
LakeWales, Florida.  She is a certified FAA senior rigger and USPA coach.  With her extensive knowledge of gear and rigging she is the perfect addition to Mirage System's sales team, and will be happy to help with all your equipment needs. Please direct any inquires to amahra@miragesys.com or give her a call at (386) 740-9222.
We've improved our backpad......again!!!
spacer foam rig We have improved the design of our backpad yet again!!

In addition to adding spacer foam padding to our G4's we have redesigned our backpad to include a plush 1/2 inch foam padding under the spacer foam on our backpad.

We have also added the spacer foam and extra foam padding all the way up and over the shoulders down to the ring cover.  This allows for much greater comfort where the rig rests on your shoulders.  You really have to try it to understand just how comfortable it is!!

This is a drastic improvement to most manufacturers designs of simply using only the spacer foam padding without the additional foam underneath.  It truly is like sitting in your favorite recliner on the way to altitude.  Once you feel the difference you'll wonder how you ever did without it!
Removable leg pads with "Swoop Armor" now available.
Are you a swooper thats sliding out your landings and shredding your leg pads?

Are you a new jumper that is just hasn't gotten your timing down on landing and it's starting to show on your rig?

Or do you just want some extra padding in your leg pads for those long high hop-n-pops?

Well if any of these apply, our new removable leg pads are for you.  Our removable leg pads are slip on covers that feature our 1/2 foam padding under our super comfortable spacer foam.  Our removable leg pads will easily fit on your existing rig and can come in black 1680 denier ballistic cloth ("Swoop Armor") or can be matched to your rig color in plain cordura.  They can easily be removed and replaced or simply washed and reused.

"Swoop Armor" removable leg pads are $75.00 and regular cordura is $60.00.  You can order them on your new Mirage or order them for your old ride.  Contact your local dealer or contact us at Mirage and we'll point you in the right direction.

Mirage unveils new look
As you may have already noticed there have been some subtle changes to Mirage's already popular logo and brand identity.

We redesigned the logo to have a smoother, more flowing design and to give it a more tribal edgy look.  The new logo is also two tone to allow our customer to add the colored accents of their choice on their embroidery to better match the color scheme of their harness and containers.

All containers will have the new logo embroidered on them.  Specify what color you want the logo and what color you want the accents on the logo to be when you place your order.  If you do not specify an accent color we will embroider the logo and the accents all the same color.
Mirage adds another model to their "Short Series" rigs
We have designed another rig in our short series of rigs.  Previously we only offered the MX and the MO in our short series denoted as MXS and MOS.

The MXS and MOS rigs only fit canopies up to a 135 main and 126 reserve.  After feedback from our customers we have found that there is a large demographic of jumpers that need a short series container which will fit up to a 150 main and 143 reserve so we designed the M2S.

The short series rigs are designed primarily for jumpers 5'8" and under or for anyone who may want a shorter rig that does not hang as low on the jumpers back.  This rig size has proven very popular among many of our "vertically challenged" female jumpers who jump that canopy range that don't want to reach to their knees to deploy their main parachute.  Ask your dealer if a short series rig is right for you.
2007 Mirage Boogie Tour going strong
As part of our effort to build personal relationships within our skydiving community we have been on an extensive multi-stop tour this season.  We wanted to connect with our customers on a personal level and offer a chance to see our products and receive information first hand from a representative in the field and what better way then actually getting out and jumping with our customers.

Our representative in the field has the latest and greatest innovations from Mirage Systems along with demo containers equipped with PD canopies and is available to answer any questions about our products from our customers in the field.

We at Mirage Systems are skydivers too so please invite us on your skydives when we attend your events, we'd love to jump with you.

If you'd like to see pictures of events we have attended click here:  2007 Mirage Events.  More pictures coming soon.

If you'd like to see where we'll be this season to meet up click here:  Mirage Tour Calendar 2007.  There are still some openings so if you would like to see us at your dropzone just drop me a line at ward@miragesys.com
New adjustable harness availale on Mirage student RTS

We now use a two piece hinged hardware called SP 888's which completely alleviates the possibility of a knife edge being created that can sever the webbing if loaded incorrectly.  This hardware has been in use for some time on our sport rigs and has proven to be an outstanding addition to our RTS's.  The SP 888 hardware is extremely easy to adjust and will not slip during movement in the plane and in freefall.  This change is just another example of Mirage Systems constantly striving to improve our rigs for the safety of our customers.
Information on the freefly hacky handle
After feedback from the field we have decided to make the freefly hacky handle an option upon request on all Mirage rigs.  Previously we were making the freefly hacky handle standard on any rigs ordered with a hacky handle.

The freefly hacky is truly the best of both worlds as it allows you to get a firm grip on the handle and also allows extra security with the tuck tab that inserts under the main corner.  With the added security, the freefly hacky definitely won't be walking itself out during freefall no matter what speeds you are flying.

If you decide not to use the freefly hacky handle's tab under the main corner then you simply fold it under and place it along the container rather than tucking it under the main corner and it is then exactly the same as a regular hacky.  If using the tuck tab it is easiest to pull the hacky handle 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch towards the B.O.C. pouch before deploying to reduce pull forces.  You CAN pull straight out and it will pivot ON the freefly tab but the forcre required to extract the P.C. from the pouch is somewhat more.  We found out that this came as a surprise to some jumpers and they did not know they can simply fold the tab under to use it as a normal hacky.  This is the cause for us to revert back to making it an option available upon request.
Oh......that's why.
At Mirage Systems we only use the finest materials to construct your harness container.  If you'll take a look at your end fittings at the end of your cutaway cable housings you'll see a one piece end fitting exclusive to Mirage containers.  Our end fittings are a precise and clean solution for a critical part.

Other manufacturers use a crimp on electrical connection with a larger diameter on the end fitting.

There have been instances in the past where the cutaway cable has actually  been sucked through the larger diameter of the 0 grommet electrical connection used by other manufacturers.  Those instances in conjunction with the many factors beyond our control such as cutaway cable fatigue, inconsistent cutaway cable diameters, and the many possible human error factors associated with manually setting 0 grommets to amp fittings then physically swaging them to housings led us to incorporate our one piece end fittings on our harness containers.

We feel much more comfortable knowing our jumpers are getting a precisely machined one piece end fitting that is actually threaded into place and locked with a crimp and that also has a greatly reduced diameter of hole compared to the 0 grommets of the electrical connections used by other manufacturers.

This is just another example of how Mirage goes above and beyond and uses only the best materials when building your harness container.

Mirage Systems, Inc. is very different than other container manufacturers. At Mirage we do one thing and we do it very well. We produce high quality harness/container systems for the quality-minded skydiver. Mirage Systems strives for the highest level of refinement in design, materials, quality control, and customer service. We are not the cheapest container on the market, not even close. But if you want the very best equipment for our demanding sport, look no further.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at any time.

Sincerely,
