| Current Production Time
Moves to 10 Weeks. |
|
Due to a plant
shutdown for the upcoming holidays and increasing demand we
are currently stating 10 weeks delivery time. Even with
our increased production times you'll find that we have
considerably shorter delivery times than most other
manufacturers.
By not dabbling into the tandem or
military market and focusing on only making the best sport
harness container systems in the world, we are able to
maintain our reasonable delivery times.
Delivery
times are not guaranteed but we strive to deliver on or before
the promised date. If you would like to guarantee
shipment on or before 10 weeks you can always look into our
rush services or guaranteed delivery times that we offer for a
fee.
Why pay more and wait longer for a lesser
rig? Don't forget that stainless steel and spacer foam
is included on all G4's. You can have the Ferrari of
containers on your back with plenty of the skydiving season
left and plenty of change left in your pocket. Go ahead,
you deserve it!

Dealers.....please
look carefully!!!
|
|
We are continuing to have problems with order forms
coming to us incomplete and order confirmations not
being double checked by the dealers after we send them
to you .
Dealers please make sure every line on
your order form is filled out. If you are not
getting an option please put N/A in the area that you
are not wanting the option. The embroidery section
is one of the most problematic areas so please take
extra care in that section. Our delivery times do
not start from the time the order is submitted but
rather when the order form is deemed complete. Any
incomplete orders that we must spend time getting
completed will only add to your delivery
times.
Also we will not be responsible for any
changes or corrections made to the rig after the
confirmation has been sent to the dealer. The
dealer has 3 days to make changes to the order if it is
not exactly as wanted on the order confirmation.
Three days after an order confirmation has been sent the
rig will be put into production and any changes will
incur an additional fee which the dealer will be
responsible
for. |
Mirage sizing numbers
explained.
|
|
We've had so many customers ask us
just what the numbers on the inside of their ring cover
info mean in regards to our sizing so here is a quick
quide to better understand our sizing.
Typically
there are three numbers and will look similar to 16.5,
16, +.5
The first number is the length of your
main lift web in inches. A good reference (but
rough guide) to go by for the MLW length is this:
HEIGHT
MLW
5'3"-5'5"
14"
5'6"-5'
7"
15"
5'7"-5'8"
15.5"
5'9"
16"
6'
17"
The second number is the
length of your leg pad in inches.
And the third
number is the length of your "stabilizer" or "lateral"
as shown below
compared to a standard measurement. +.5 means we
add 1/2 of an inch to our standard measurement.
You may see one more measurement which is your
shoulder extension. That is the length of material
that goes from your yoke or neck area up to your 3
ring. The shoulder extension will be longer for
thick chested people as the material to cover that
distance will be longer. Again, that measurement
will be + or - a number compared to our standard.
+1 would be a large shoulder extension for thick chested
men. That number is always
last.
|
We now offer contoured legpads
and double wide saddle.

|
|
We now offer double wide leg pad
harness webbing for more support while sitting in the
saddle. Single harness material can sometimes feel
like it is cutting into you while under canopy and the
extra area really increases the comfort
dramatically.
 To go along with the
double wide leg pad harness webbing we have designed
contoured leg pads that are much thinner where your
hardware meets near your crotch and allows for the extra
area of the webbing. The difference from standard
leg pads and the double wide contoured leg pads is quite
noticeable and you'll wonder where they've been all this
time.
The price for double wide legpads and
harness webbing is $50.00 and can only be ordered with a
new rigs.

| New Logo and Embroidery
Information |
|
As you may have already noticed
there have been some subtle changes to Mirage's already
popular logo and brand identity.
We redesigned
the logo to have a smoother, more flowing design and to
give it a more tribal edgy look. The new logo is
also two tone to allow our customer to add the colored
accents of their choice on their embroidery to better
match the color scheme of their harness and
containers.
All containers will have the
new logo embroidered on them. Specify what color
you want the logo and what color you want the accents on
the logo to be when you place your order. If you
do not specify an accent color we will embroider the
logo and the accents all the same color.
In all
embroidery areas of the order form please mark with N/A
or none if you choose to have no embroidery in those
sections. If you do want embroidery you have to
specify what you want and what color you want it
in.

Mirage Systems will
not
increase prices!
|
|

As
you may have noticed, many of the manufacturers in our
industry have recently announced a price
increase.
We are proud to announce that our
pricing structure will not be changing anytime in the
near future. We will continue to make the same
high quality harness and containers at our current
prices.
Mirage
Systems has always been known as the Rolls Royce or
Ferrari of containers offering the highest quality
container money can buy but unfortunately we have also
been associated as the most pricey rig on the
market. Due to our competitors raising their
prices yet again, being known as the most pricey rig is
no longer the case.
If you'll compare the most
popular systems side by side and similarly equipped
you'll find that we still offer what many consider the
premium container at better or extremely competitive
pricing with the other manufacturers of harness
container systems. We
also have one of the fastest delivery times in the
industry. Again, why pay more and wait longer for
a lesser rig?
Let's compare retail pricing for
all the major harness container systems including hip
and chest rings, stainless hardware, hacky handle, soft
reserve ripcord, collapsible main pilot chute, spacer
foam backpad and legpads, and cut in
laterals.
Vector
Micron-------------------------------------------$2809.00 Javelin
Oddysey----------------------------------------$2804.00 Mirage
G4-------------------------------------------------$2489.00 Aerodyne
Icon-------------------------------------------$2474.00 Infinity------------------------------------------------------$2439.00 Wings------------------------------------------------------$2320.00
The
choice is simple, it's time to fly the Ferrari of
containers, you deserve
it! |

| Nick Batsch wins PST
championships jumping a Mirage G4 with Swoop Belt and
other new swoop options! |
|
Maybe you
haven't heard but Nick Batsch who is a sponsored athlete
of Mirage Systems won the PST 07 Championships jumping a
Mirage G4 with an array of our swoop options.
 The first
option available and probably one of the most critical
components to his outstanding distance rounds was the
lower swoop belt offered exclusively by Mirage
Systems.
The lower swoop belt
allows the swooper to totally disengage his or her chest
strap and lie on the lower belt allowing them to become
almost completely horizontal for even less drag and
longer distances. Above is a picture of Nick
almost completely horizontal going for that extra
distance and to the left is Jessica on the ground with
the new swoop belt.
The price of the swoop belt
when ordering a new rig is
$80.00.
|
| More swoop friendly features
from Mirage. |
|
Swoop
Loops
One of
our newer swoop friendly features is our swoop
loops. With our swoop loops we have
actually sewn teflon cutaway cables inside of our front
riser dive loops helping them keep their open shape and
making it much easier to access for quick
maneuvers. We have also moved the front dive loop
up higher on the front riser with this
option. The price of swoop loops on new risers is
$25
Slip On Leg Pad
Covers
We are still offering our
slip-on removable leg pad covers which add another layer
of protection between you and the ground. When
they get trashed or dirty, simply take them off and wash
them or replace them. The price for our slip on
leg pad covers is $60.00 Unfortunately our
swoop armor ballistic cloth has been discontinued due to
our manufactuers inability to supply our demand for the
material. Slip-on covers can only be ordered in
1000 denier cordura as of the release of this
newsletter.
Low
Drag Mini Risers We round up our current
lineup of swoop friendly features we present our low
drag mini
risers.The low
drag mini's are typical type 17 risers zig-zag stitched
in half just above the armored housings to reduce the
drag of the risers
through the air and essentially
knife-edge through the wind
resistance.
We can also offer type 8 large risers
in the low drag configuration. We especially
recommend this for jumpers over 200 pounds getting an
RSL equipped rig as the type 17 mini risers are not
strong enough for those weights.
The price for
low drag mini's is $25.00 in addition to the price of
the risers.

Elastic Lumbar Support
Explained
For increased comfort and
stability, Mirage Systems added an elastic lumbar
support across the lower container to comfortably snug
the G4 to your lower back without cutting into you. The
Elastic Lumbar Support gently provides lower back
support while stabilizing the container, making the
jumper and container feel more as one. This feature is
adjustable, replaceable, and very easily permanently
removable.
As you can see on this competitors
rig, whose identity has been concealed to protect the
innocent, that the rig is gapping off of the jumpers
back considerably. This is caused largely to the fact
that when the knees are drawn up as in a sit fly
position the leg straps naturally rotate towards the
back of the jumper causing the stabilizer to rotate
towards the rear and creating a gap between the jumpers
back and the rig. All solid piece stabilizer designs are
subject to this and it is not a design flaw, just a
product of body position. Our elastic lumbar support
alleviates this problem
entirely.
With our elastic lumbar support no
matter what position you are in while flying, the rig is
constantly being pulled into the lower back of the
jumper by the elastic, providing a snug fit for all body
orientations. The stabilizer still attaches to the
outside of the main container as normal but the rig is
constantly being pulled into the jumpers back. The
elastic lumbar is not visible while wearing the rig and
removing the elastic lumbar support is as easy as
removing the friction adapter similar to that on your
chest strap, and removing the elastic. This comes at no
additional cost to the jumper and is standard on the
G4.

Top dealers of
2007
We would like to
acknowledge and thank some of our most outstanding
dealers of 2007 who have given both Mirage Systems and
their customers outstanding support in
2007.
 Without the
support and service of these fine dealers there would be
many frustrated and gear-less skydivers in the world
right now.
 Being a gear
dealer is no easy task, just ask anyone that has ever
worked in customer service. It's also probably not
a job where you'll be jet setting off in your private
jet to Tahiti on the weekends but they do it because
they have a passion for our sport and a passion for
helping new and upcoming skydivers.
 We would like to
list and thank all of our outstanding dealers for their
support and accomplishments this year but we had to pick
our top five dealers in sales as this newsletter just
doesn't have enough room to list all the dealers we'd
like to thank.
 Dealers keep up
the good work, if you'd like to be directed to their
respective websites just click on their
logo.

| G4 Split D-Bag
Explained |
|
We at Mirage Systems are constantly asked why the G4 bag
has a split bag design so here is the answer to your
question. The main deployment bag must actually be
tailored to match the shape of the main tray for the best
possible aesthetic of the rig. As you can see
from the example on the left, the bottom of the main tray area
is considerably smaller in diameter than the top of the main
tray where the main meets the reserve. To the
left is a G3 container which is more of a wedge shaped
container that has the same diameter at the top of the
main tray area as it has at the bottom of the main tray
area. Below is an example of a g4 split
bag. The example to the right is a full g3 bag with the
arrow signifying the area that is cut off and tapered.
It also marks the portion of the bag that will has a smaller
circumfrence to fit the main tray compartment. When the
last locking stow of the split bag is locked then the mouth is
much smaller than the base to fit the tray. If the
mouth were sewn in that shape it would be trying to pull a
bunch of fabric out of a tiny opening and we feel it may
produce less than desirable openings. Once the last
locking stow of the g4 bag is open the mouth has a huge open
area for the canopy to be pulled out during opening. We
feel this will produce the best openings especially on sub 100
size canopies. |
